WordPress itself brought this to my attention, and damn is it pretty. The only thing better than the sneak peek at such delicious (potentially totally superfluous) architecture, is the fifth comment down: “Absolutely insane. Dubai is like some SimCity player going nuts in the real-world.” Clearly that’s what makes the city awesome. Oh, and Ishmael Leyva can suck it.

I wonder if people were more productive in college before the internet happened. Probably, but then again you’d have to weigh the inconvenience of typewriters over the temptation to type absolutely irrelevant blog posts. Who would have guessed that the time consuming task of typing would become our chosen task for time consumption.

Newsmap is on to something really huge, as my buddy Matt Baker has pointed out. Sometimes you really wonder how our current aspirations for web design will look to us in a few years. When I see something like Newsmap, which displays story “importance” (measured according to how many related articles exist in Google News) clearly and visually, while still giving you a headline, I become amazed at how little we actually understand about this Internet thing and what it can do. If you are in for a rewarding adventure, try to track down a Tiny Tim/Current 93/Nurse With Wound track called “Just What Do You Mean By Antichrist?” It may turn everything upside down. You can find it on the album “Songs of an Impotent Troubadour”, but there does not seem to be a version you can listen to online. If anyone finds one, leave a comment. Here’s the Last.FM page for the album.

Whatever, Tom. Interesting is in the eye of the reader. Being that none of us really seems to have free time, yet we’re always on the internet, I suppose this should be a collecting place for all of the things we rant about in the course of a regular day. What makes that any different from our individual rant-spaces? Well it’s three times the fun, claro.

I think we should do whatever. You know, the way out parents and grandparents did. Talk about what is interesting, and why that is. I wish I had something more interesting to say.

I love doing interviews, but I don’t much like transcribing them. What does everyone think we should do with this blog?
