The St. Louis flood was crazy. Just got back to Galesburg from a nice spring break spent gawking at the flood damage outside the city a township away from my parents’ home. We have pictures. It was, like, a lot of water.

Irene Allen is amazing, and so is this video of her playing along in a closed St. Louis City Museum. This is from Bill Streeter’s new site/video project Lo-Fi Sessions, which works well with Lo-Fi Saint Louis. Both sites are worth subscribing to in either podcast or RSS. If you like good music, of course.
On another note, WordPress.com needs to allow embedding of more than just YouTube (and a few other sites) videos, though I am sure they are working on that.

I’m starting to realize that the St. Louis Post-Dispatch web site is by far the most depressing major news outlet. Nowhere else will you find so many absolutely horrifying stories all in a row, updated with such regularity. Perhaps it is indicative of the high crime rate of St. Louis, or perhaps it is just fulfilling that expectation with it’s coverage. Either way, I find it fascinating.
