The fundamental building blocks of our childhood became digital. What does that say about our generation?

Irene Allen is amazing, and so is this video of her playing along in a closed St. Louis City Museum. This is from Bill Streeter’s new site/video project Lo-Fi Sessions, which works well with Lo-Fi Saint Louis. Both sites are worth subscribing to in either podcast or RSS. If you like good music, of course.
On another note, WordPress.com needs to allow embedding of more than just YouTube (and a few other sites) videos, though I am sure they are working on that.

People are inherently awkward creatures, especially when it comes to posting personal ads. Take, for instance, a photo exhibit featuring absolutely giant 40″ x 30″ high res polaroids of people who submitted personal ads to various find-me-a-date thingies. Newsmap is on to something really huge, as my buddy Matt Baker has pointed out. Sometimes you really wonder how our current aspirations for web design will look to us in a few years. When I see something like Newsmap, which displays story “importance” (measured according to how many related articles exist in Google News) clearly and visually, while still giving you a headline, I become amazed at how little we actually understand about this Internet thing and what it can do. This design concept can be applied in so many situations. Maybe that’s what I’ll start doing …

Twitterfeed is ace. Good call. I think seeing a show for me is utterly dependent on who’s playing and then the venue. I hate clubs that are predominantly full of teenyboppers, but a good band can overcome that. Also, going with friends.

i really like how you can’t tell who said what when you feed this blog into twitter. it gives it the strange sense that it is one mind. that’s kind of neat.
